OC AHS is excited to remind our members that our annual Scholarship Auditions will be held on July 29th at the Temple Beth Shalom:   3625 N. Tustin Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705.  Applications must be received no later than July 1st, 2012.  Participants will be notified of the audition time slot no later than July 15th, 2012.  This year when youth members sign up and pay for a participation event, such as a master class or audition, their yearly OC AHS dues are on us!  The forms will be on-line shortly.

To participate in the Scholarship Auditions students must complete both an application for membership for OC AHS along with the form for the auditions and send in the $20.00 entrance fee, must be 22 years of age or younger, and may register for only one of the following divisions based on their current level of study.

Repertoire is free choice, but the pieces chosen must adhere to the specified time limit for each division.  Students may register for only one of the following divisions based on their current level of study:

• Beginner: 1-2 years of lessons or the equivalent of Grades 1-2 of the Royal Schools Syllabus.  Plase play one piece of your choosing, up to 5 minutes maximum duration.  Repertoire does not need to be memorized.
• Intermediate:  3-4 years of lessons or the equivalent of Grades 3-5 of the Royal Schools Syllabus.  Please play one piece of your choosing, up to 5 minutes maximum duration.  All repertoire must be memorized.
• Advanced:  5-6 years of lessons or the equivalent of Grades 6-7 of the Royal Schools Syllabus.  Please play 1-2 pieces of your choosing, up to 10 minutes maximum duration.  All repertoire must be memorized.
• Young Professional:  7+ years of lessons or the equivalent of Grade 8 of the Royal Schools Syllabus.  Please play 1-2 pieces of your choosing, up to 15 minutes maximum duration.  All repertoire must be memorized.

A maximum of one winner from each of the four divisions will be chosen.  The Beginner and Intermediate Students winners will receive a $100 award for future study.  The Advanced Students and Young Professionals winners will receive a $300 award for future study.
